We started on the other side of the country. Wilmington, North Carolina to be exact. It really all began with a fascination and boderline addiction to learning how this thing called the internet worked back in the mid 1990's. You remember then? Back when we all had phone line access (remember when you couldn't talk AND suf the web at the same time), AOL ruled the internet and "You've Got Mail" was becoming a household phrase. Our first work was simple and boxy, as were most sites in that time. However, we had an idea that this internet thing might get big one day. So, we kept going, learning more and more as time went on.
Fast forward a little and our first website was working! We were generating more and more traffic and getting leads for the business. Google was still only used by us computer geeks but it was growing fast and the concept that one day people would do most of their shopping and information gathering on the internet was quickly becoming a reality. We were fortunate to get to work with and receive some SEO tips from the amazing team at Sage Island. So we studied more, and we learned more. Our first site was now in the number one organic position on Google for some of the most competitve searches in the area, the time on site was exceeding 9 minutes, and the visitor traffic had broken the million pages per month mark. Our other websites were gaining speed, and they two were making steady process to the top of the search engines.
But we yearned for more. More traffic, more visitors, more designs, more traffic, more graphics, more traffic...
On a whim a trip was made to Hawaii to see the Kokua Festival in Waikiki. Before sleep that night we were already trying to figure out how to make the move. 10 days later, we returned to Wilmington, but every waking moment Hawaii was calling. The water, the islands, the food and mostly the opportunity to photograph all of the amazing people, places and things and turn them into websites. Less than 11 months later the move was made. Now, we are working hard getting our clients to the top of their goals, like we did in NC.
